ABOUT DR. HEIDI HAMMEL DVM, CVA, CCRT

Dr. Hammel graduated from the University of Minnesota College of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. She obtained her certification in veterinary acupuncture in 2010 from the Chi Institute of Chinese Veterinary Medicine.  In addition, Dr. Hammel achieved certification in canine rehabilitation in 2012 by the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Florida. In 2020, she completed Curacore’s Advanced Medical Acupuncture for Veterinarians course. Dr. Hammel’s areas of interest are pain management and improving the quality of life for aging pets dealing with arthritis and mobility issues.

 

In her free time, Dr. Hammel enjoys a very active lifestyle with her husband, Scott, also a veterinarian. She enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, photography, and traveling. She has a Labrador retriever mix named Porter and a Jack Russell named Frank. Both dogs are rescue dogs who were surrendered for orthopedic and neurological conditions.
